Hydrothermal Synthesis of ZnIn2S4 Microspheres under Controlled Pressure

Co-authors URSU Daniel, LINUL Petrica, RACU Andrei, VASZILCSIN Nicolae

Porous microspheres of ZnIn2S4 were synthesized using a microwave-assisted hydrothermal method. The morphology and crystallinity of the obtained ZnIn2S4 samples was studied depending on the growth rate of the temperature in the reaction environment, the pressure and the precursor solution pH. The obtained products were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV–visible spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL), energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy. Conclusions regarding the growth mechanism of porous microspheres were drawn by studying the influence of the rate of temperature and pressure increase on the reaction products morphology.
